The term “Personal Information” as used in this Privacy Policy refers to personally identifiable information that specifically identifies an individual (such as an individual’s first and last name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, credit card or other account number), and information about that individual or such individual’s activities or preferences when such information is directly linked to personally identifying information. Personal Information does not include “aggregate” information, which is data we collect about the use of the Networks, categories of Network users, or location of Network users from which any Personal Information has been removed. We may collect aggregate data for a number of purposes, including to improve the Networks and the services offered by our customers, to diagnose technical issues, to help identify user needs so that we and our customers can better consider new products and services, to tailor existing products and services to better serve users, and otherwise to assist mobile application providers to understand usage and create and improve products for their customers. This Privacy Policy in no way limits or restricts our collection, use or disclosure of aggregate information, in fact, Tribal expects to share aggregate information about you and/or your customers (but not Personal Information) with advertisers, publishers, business partners, sponsors, and other third parties.

We use registration information to manage your account and our customers use that information to provide you with the services you have requested in accordance with their privacy policies. The information you provide in emails, SMS or MMS communications, which may include Personal Information, is used to respond directly to your questions or comments. We may also file your comments to improve the Networks and our customers’ services, or review and discard the information.

Via Software

Tribal may obtain information as a result of data being sent to our servers from our software “agent” that may be embedded in an end user’s mobile application. The software agent will collect and transmit to us information about your use of mobile apps. We aggregate that data, which tracks information such as use sessions, an end user’s handset, or an end user’s page views. Once the data is aggregated, we make it available for analysis by the developer of the application.

In order assist our customers in providing you with personalized service, Tribal utilizes cookies to keep and occasionally track information about visitors to Networks with which Tribal is affiliated. Cookies are alphanumeric identifiers that reside within your browser or handset software to enable our computer systems to recognize your browser and to tell our systems how and when pages within a Network are visited and by how many people. The cookies from a Network do not collect Personal Information, however, we may combine information collected through certain cookies we issue on Networks with other Personal Information that you provide to us on Networks.

We use both session ID cookies and persistent cookies. We use session cookies to make it easier for you to navigate the Networks. A session ID cookie expires when you close your browser. A persistent cookie remains on your hard drive or mobile device for an extended period of time. For example, we may set a persistent cookie to store your password if you choose “auto login”, so you don’t have to enter it more than once. We also store your display resolution and whether JavaScript is enabled in your browser to enhance the experience on the Networks. You can remove persistent cookies by following directions provided in your Internet browser’s help file or your mobile device’s settings. However, removing cookies may not allow you to take full advantage of all features on the Networks

We may also collect information using beacons. Web beacons are electronic images used on Networks or in our emails. Mobile beacons are electronic messages sent from a software “agent” to our system. We use beacons to deliver cookies, count visits, understand usage and activity on the Network and to tell if an email has been opened and acted upon.

We automatically receive and store certain other types of information whenever you interact with us. For example, our servers track the type of browser you are using, where you travel within the Network, and the page to which you link from the Network. We collect aggregate information about the use of our products, services and websites, including information about users accessing the Network or using our products or services, such as internet protocol addresses, browser type, browser language, referring / exit pages and URLs, other browser history, platform type, number of clicks, domain names, landing pages, pages viewed and the order of those pages, the amount of time spent on particular pages, and the date and time, mobile use sessions, an end user’s handset type or software version, or an end user’s page views (“Activity Information”).

By using the Networks affiliated with Tribal and/or the services offered thereon, you consent to our retaining all the above-described information indefinitely

Many companies offer programs that help you to visit websites anonymously. While Tribal will not be able to provide you with a personalized experience if we cannot recognize you, we want you to be aware that these programs are available although they may impair the quality of your experience on our Network.

Tribal may also use Personal Information collected from you for the following general purposes: (1) to fulfill your requests for services; (2) to improve our services; (3) to contact you to resolve problems; (4) to conduct research; (5) to make the Networks easier to use by reducing the need for you to enter information and (6) to assist our customers in doing those things.

We and our users do not tolerate spam. Make sure to set your notification preferences so we communicate to you as you prefer.

Your password is the key to your account. Use unique numbers, letters, and special characters and do not disclose your password to anyone. If you do share your password or your Personal Information with others, remember that you are responsible for all actions taken in the name of your account. If you lose control of your password, you may lose substantial control over your Personal Information. Therefore, if your password has been compromised for any reason, you should immediately notify us and change your password.

Your information is stored on our servers located in the United States. We treat data as an asset that must be protected and use lots of tools (encryption, passwords, physical security, etc.) to protect your Personal Information against unauthorized access and disclosure. However, as you probably know, third parties may unlawfully intercept or access transmissions or private communications, and other users may abuse or misuse your Personal Information that is collected from the Networks. Therefore, although we work very hard to protect your privacy, we do not promise, and you should not expect, that your Personal Information or private communications will always remain private.

Please note that, while using the Networks, you could be directed to other networks that are developed and administered by people or companies not affiliated with or controlled by Tribal. These other networks may place their own cookies on your computer, collect data or solicit Personal Information. In addition, the Networks affiliated with Tribal are likely to collect and analyze your information themselves – which activities are governed by the privacy policy of those entities.

We suggest that when you access a link to another network or utilize an application or other feature of your mobile network you review that network’s privacy policy, as it may be different from this Privacy Policy. Tribal is not responsible for the actions of those people or companies, the content of their networks, the use of information you provide to them, or any products or services they may offer. Any link to those networks does not constitute our sponsorship of, or affiliation with, those people or companies.

Except as described in this policy, Tribal does not rent, sell, or share Personal Information about you with other people or nonaffiliated companies unless we have your express permission, or under the following circumstances:

  • When necessary to comply with law or legal process;
  • To establish or exercise our rights or property, including defending against legal claims;
  • When we believe it is necessary in order to protect our customers or users, including from misuse or unauthorized use of the Networks or our services; or
  • When we believe it is necessary to protect the safety or property of our employees, customers, users or others.

Also, Tribal may disclose or transfer your Personal Information (a) to its corporate affiliates (for example, a subsidiary or parent corporation), (b) to its service providers (such as fulfillment, hosting, or payment service providers), but only for their use to provide the requested service, or (c) to an acquirer in connection with the sale or other transfer of a line of business or assets of Tribal. Tribal will require its corporate affiliates and service providers that receive your Personal Information to limit their use and disclosure of your information as provided in this Privacy Policy.

Tribal uses reasonable efforts to protect your Personal Information against unauthorized access and unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction. However, we cannot guarantee that your Personal Information will be absolutely protected. For example, your Personal Information may be affected by actions outside of our control, such as computer “hacking” and physical theft. You acknowledge that you provide your Personal Information at your own risk.

Tribal understands that children’s privacy is important. The Networks and the services offered through the Networks are not intended for use by children under 13 years old, and we do not intend to collect any Personal Information from children under 13. If you are under 13 years old, you may not submit any Personal Information to Tribal or otherwise use products, services and websites offered through the Networks (unless the Network specifically authorizes such use).

We may change this Privacy Policy at any time. We will post all changes to this Privacy Policy on this page and will indicate at the top of the page the modified policy’s effective date. We therefore encourage you to refer to this page on an ongoing basis so that you are aware of our current privacy policy.
