A NEW range of harmonicas is now available to buy in shops around
the world after its creators signed distribution deals in several
different countries.
UK-based
Tribal Planet Harmonica Company has signed deals with distributors
in the UK, Europe, USA, South Africa and Australia for its new
range of Planetone Harmonicas.
Distribution
deals have also been announced for the UK with Soar Valley Music
and Steve Clinkscale Music.
Soar
Valley Music is based in Leicester, England and Steve Clinkscale
Music is based in Kelso, Scotland. Both companies distribute
across the UK.
The
Planetone range is Tribal Planet’s first foray into harmonicas
and it has been well received by musicians.
Director
of international sales David Wright said: “We have been working
on this range of Harmonicas for several years and it is fantastic
to finally agree distribution deals with partners.
“We have had a great response from customers. The feedback has
been encouraging with many customers being astounded by the
high level of specification for such a low price.
“I am delighted we now have distributors in the countries that
create 85% of the world’s business in the music industry.”
The
harmonicas were first available in store at J G Windows based
in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, UK.
Managing
director, Rupert Bradbury, said: “The Planetone Harmonica has
been very successful and it has only been in the store for a
few weeks.
“Our
staff were very impressed when they first saw them and they
believe they will be attractive to a wide range of customers
as they provide something a bit different.
“It
is a good quality product which provides exceptional value for
money for the customer. Many of customers have returned to the
shop to tell us how impressed they are.”
Tribal
Planet, headquartered at Birtley Business Centre, is best known
for its innovative gig bags which are sold to musicians around
the world.
The
company has been working with the Jimi Hendrix of harmonicas,
America’s Johnny Mars, to come up with new harmonica designs
that will revolutionise the market.
David said: “There is a demand in the market for an improved
harmonica and Tribal Planet has spent the last three years developing
this exciting new range which will fill that void. “
We
are bringing to the market a full range of harmonicas that suits
both beginners and serious players.
“We know that the beginner has a much better chance of learning
with a better quality instrument and we expect to grow the market
by converting more starters into serious players.” David, a
former senior staff member at Hohner set up Tribal Planet to
bring design excellence to the music industry and to offer consumers
a better choice. It soon revolutionised the guitar gig bag by
offering bags with extra protection and versatility for all
types of players.
The
bags have been so successful that Tribal Planet is now among
the first choice in gig bags across the world.
Mr
Wright said: “We expect the Tribal Planet Harmonica Company
to follow the success of Tribal Planet and soon the name will
be known, not only for revolutionising guitar bags, but for
also for revolutionising the harmonica market.”
The
Planetone range includes 19 harmonicas including Blues, Tremolo,
Octave, and Chromatic, which makes a full presentation and competes
with the traditional manufacturers in the market.
The
range has been enhanced from the standard traditional product
and improves functionality and styling. All Tribal Planet brass
reed plates feature nickel or chrome plating which will enhance
the harmonica’s lifespan and prevent corrosion.
