Fender Distributes Tribal Planet Gigbags in the USA

January 31st 2006

Tribal Planet has appointed Fender’s new FMI Wholesale Division as Sole US Distributor of Tribal Planet’s unique range of reinforced super strong and super lightweight Guitar cases and Gigbags.

Starting out in 2001, European Design House Tribal Planet created unique Guitar and Drum Gigbag-Case products that have all the convenience and lightness of traditional Gigbags, but provide much better protection in travel situations than heavier and awkward Cases.

Tribal Planet’s all new model range will be displayed at the upcoming Winter Namm Show, at the Fender booth.

Tribal Planet Director Philip Sutcliffe: “We are delighted that Fender is bringing their totally professional approach to distribution of our products in the USA”.

David Wright, fellow director: “Everyone who takes their guitar on their travels should have the choice to purchase the level of safety and protection that our super-Gigbags offer, and we are confident that Fender’s FMI Wholesale Division will achieve this”.

FMI wholesale’s refreshing and dynamic approach bodes well for this ideal:

With the recent creation of the FMI Wholesale division, Fender Musical Instruments Corp. is poised to expand even further beyond its core guitar and amplifier business into the general accessory and value-priced instruments market. Headed by Fender veteran Jeff Moore, the division will operate from a new facility across the street from Fender headquarters in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Warehousing and shipping will be located in a portion of Fender’s newly opened 575,000-plus-square-foot fulfilment center in Ontario, California.

Sales for the division will be jointly handled by a dedicated 12- person internal sales force and the existing 30- member Fender field sales staff. Although FMI Wholesale will sell to a broader network of dealers than the existing Fender guitar and amplifier divisions, Moore is quick to point out that the new division is different from other general music distributors. “We’re not looking to carry every commodity product out there,” he said. “Our mission is to offer of selection of unique products that are truly best in class: unique items that aren’t available everywhere else.

David Wright: “We are looking forward to working closely with the Fender Wholesale team. It’s a great opportunity for both parties to bring superior Music Travel products to the market in the USA”
